Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Cedar Park & Central Texas

Wake up to a full charge, every morning.

A Level 2 EV charger runs on a dedicated 240-volt circuit and adds roughly 20–40 miles of range per hour of charging. Installation in Central Texas typically costs $900–$2,500 depending on the distance from your panel and whether your panel has capacity. We handle the load calculation, permit and inspection.

Charging off a regular wall outlet adds only 3–5 miles of range per hour. A professionally installed Level 2 charger gives you a full battery overnight, protects your home's wiring, and keeps your manufacturer warranty happy.

We install Tesla Wall Connectors, ChargePoint, Emporia, Grizzl-E, Wallbox, Ford and GM chargers, and NEMA 14-50 outlets for plug-in units, sized correctly for your car and your panel. No capacity? We'll show you a smart load-management option before we ever suggest a full panel upgrade.

Signs you need ev chargers

  • You just bought (or ordered) an EV or plug-in hybrid
  • Level 1 charging can't keep up with your commute
  • You want a second charger for another EV
  • Your existing charger trips the breaker or gets hot
  • You're building a garage, carport or shop

What's included

  • Panel capacity check and NEC load calculation
  • Dedicated 240V circuit sized for your charger (typically 40–60A)
  • Hardwired wall connector or NEMA 14-50 outlet
  • Clean conduit routing inside or outside the garage
  • Permit and inspection where required
  • Charger commissioning and app / Wi-Fi setup help

What affects the price

Most ev chargers projects in Central Texas land between $900–$2,500. Where yours falls depends on:

  • Distance from the panel to the parking spot
  • Garage vs. exterior / detached installation
  • Charger amperage (40A vs 60A circuit)
  • Whether your panel has spare capacity
  • Load-management device vs. panel upgrade

EV Chargers FAQ

Do I need a panel upgrade to install an EV charger?

Not always. Many 200A panels can add a 40–60A EV circuit without any upgrade. If your load calculation is tight, a smart load-management device or a lower charger setting can avoid a full upgrade. 100A and older panels are the ones that most often need upgrading.

How much does it cost to install a Tesla Wall Connector?

Most Tesla Wall Connector installs in our area fall between $900 and $1,800 when the panel is in or near the garage and has capacity. Longer runs, exterior installs and panel upgrades add cost. We give you a flat price before any work begins.

Should I get a hardwired charger or a NEMA 14-50 outlet?

Hardwired chargers can deliver more power (up to 48A charging on a 60A circuit), are better for outdoor installs, and avoid outlet wear. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is flexible if you may take the charger with you. Either way, it needs a quality industrial-grade receptacle and correct GFCI protection.

How long does an EV charger installation take?

A typical garage installation takes 2–4 hours. Exterior, detached-garage or long-run installations can take most of a day.
